My Mission!

My Name is Christina Rogers, I love to read and I am a firm believer that books can change a person's life. For instance...Murder in the Cove was the first book I ever read at about 21 years old. I could always read, just never found anything that really sparked my interest, until that book! It still remains one of my favorites to this day. Generation Dead by Dan Waters is a great book for people who are in situations (being bullied mainly) to realize they are not alone. I found solace in that knowledge and it made me feel stronger, and more Confident about myself, seeing these characters overcome so much made me believe I could overcome my adversities as well.

There are so many books out there! Authors of whom you may not have herd of, and there is my primary Goal...To bring to you Not only books others know and love, but also to show you new Authors, and Titles that probably would not have been brought to your attention until now. For instance, Few have herd of Dan Waters Author of The Generation Dead Novels, Michelle Zink who wrote The Prophecy of the sisters. Or Canadian Writers such as, Kathleen J. Farthing- Murder in the Cove, or Lesley Crewe-Relative Happiness, and Shoot me. If this is the case, and you haven't herd of these Writers and their great books you may be missing out on the greatest book you would ever read.
No matter what, there is a book out there for you. Weather it be Michelle Zink's Prophecy of the sisters, where two sisters have to fight against each other in a true test of love and Destiny/fate, or J.K Rowlings Harry Potter Fighting for survival and Friendship. Or maybe you wish to fight Valentine and disobey the Clave in an attempt to save love, and lives in Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices, and Mortal Instruments. There is With out a doubt a book out there that speaks to you.

My mission is to help you find it. I have a very vast Library of books, my goal is to review these books and hopefully open up a world of mystery and magic for you, or Allow you to find a book that will broaden your horizons, and give you facts that you have been searching for. From Non-Fiction to Fiction, Adult to Childhood books I hope to help you find your perfect match.

So give me ideas of what you like, let me know what your favorite Genres of books are. or just browse through what already lies in the pages of this blog, there is something for you, I just Know it!

Happy Reading,

Christina Rogers

Betrayed

Betrayed By: Wodke Hawkinson

Great book! the writers really knew what they were doing here. Bone Chilling and the type of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Characters that you  will not soon forget.  Sure it has an aspect to it that most books don't have... This book is very graphic. Although some scenes are dirty and make you want to throw the book through the window, in the end you're really glad you read the book. I thank Wodke Hawkinson for their trust in me to allow me to have an ARC of their book to review. I knew in a way I was going to like it before I read it because it sounded a lot like Murder in the Cove, witch was my first look into reading and I loved it. Very good book, would recommend it to anyone who is an adult, and has a strong stomach.

INKHEART!!!!

Cornelia Funke's INKHEART

I Adore this book with all my heart. I have not yet read its' sequel but I just love this one so much! I am in love with the Mortal Instruments. But this book is a close second, it may even tie with TMI. Ink Heart was my first look into the Y.A Genre, and Wow what a first look it was! Moe, Maggie, Dust finger, Ressa, Capricorn, The henchmen, little Tink, oh What a wonderful mixture of fabulous! you'll have to read it to find out what it's about. Just thinking about this Book makes me so excited I just want to go read it again. When Maggie was very young her mother disappeared, Moe (Maggie's father) has been searching ever since for her, he has an obvious obsession for a book called InkHeart, and looks for it everywhere he goes...Why do you suppose that is? Remembering this book brings a big smile to my face. It's full of Passion, adventure, true heroes, and lots of fantasy, there are characters in this book you may already know, and I'm telling you it's well worth the read. Go pick it up! Open the Magic!

Another thing I must Stress to you is that If you think going to the movie Store and picking up Inkheart is going to be even close to reading the book, You are WRONG! The movie is fine, I appreciate all the hard work they put into it (and the shadow is OMG amazing!) But the movie is nothing like the Book and the book is worlds better. Sure Toto was a nice sub for Tink, but I love her mischief. So sure go pick up the movie, but you're missing out if you don't read the book.

The Incridible Mortal Instruments Series!

The Mortal Instruments, By: Cassandra Clare

Okay, First Came Murder in the Cove, Then Ink Heart, Then my true Love...  The Mortal Instruments. Though it is true I have never Met a book I didn't like, (even books like Ryan's Commander which I liked even though it's non-fiction.) I have never read a book I liked more than The mortal Instruments. My Favourite so far in this series is City of Glass, I don't know why but I adore Sebastian, I know he's not a nice guy, but I love that Character. The books themselves are well written, and OMG Clary Fray! What a Role-model! Strong, Sincere, Courageous, True to her Family and friends, She is an amazing Girl. Jace, oh Jace, the boy is just to hot for words, and he knows it. He's awfully troubled, but all the more to love him for. We follow Clary and the Shadow hunters through their lives and many terrible and wonderful situations, with fighting, love, betrayal, death and struggles.  there are so many cool characters in these books, But you'll have to read of them  yourself, because I could be here all day telling you of my love for these books. You really need to go get yourself copies if you haven't already done so!  Find them at your local book store, or on Amazon, you will NOT regret this I promise you!

Prophecy of the sisters (The Trilogy)

I bought this book to try out the Edwardian Gothic style Book. I didn't know if I would like it or not at first. i brought it home Started reading and at first I was thinking I wouldn't like it. But then I fell in love. This book is well written and very interesting. It's about two sisters (twins) one the Guardian one the Gate. Lia and Alice have to stand against each other one trying to keep evil out of this world one trying to bring it in. Of course there;s a boy, James is his name, both girls are fighting for his affection, (one more thing to come between them). To know exactly what happens you must read this amazing Trilogy by Michelle Zink. Also Michelle's Son Kenneth Zink as put together a score for the trilogy, you can get it here . You can also get your Prophecy books on Amazon.

Murder in The Cove!

Murder in the Cove By Kathleen J. Farthing

  Murder in the cove
By, Kathleen J. Farthing

I don't know what to say about this book. It was my first window into the world of reading. I was blown away by the reality and the suspense, I didn't know until then that reading could be so fun. It takes you into a whole new world of possibilities even ones that are so terrifying you don't want to go on but you have to. Like when you were a kid and Jason was wielding a knife on some poor unsuspecting victim, you cover your eyes, but you just have to watch. That's what it's like here, you feel bad for the characters, but you need to see it through that they will be okay, and hopefully that creep gets what's coming to him.
This was a very good book in my opinion . Very Short, it's only 179 pages long. The Writer has a way of making you feel like, Oh my gosh! did that really happen? it is a Fictional book, I thought it was a well done book, It's about two teenage Girls who got kidnapped, now the person who kidnapped them is suddenly on parole, Do the girls get their Justice? The only way you'll find out is if you read it. Go Buy IT! and maybe check out some more Newfoundland books while you're there. :)
